5 new Seattle-area bars are open now

Our first roll call of bar openings for the new year includes a Belltown spot that highlights winemakers from demographics that are underrepresented in the industry. Across from the Moore Theatre and Hotel, WeRise Wine Bar has a carefully selected coolness, with flourishes like a purple, amoeba-shaped sofa and wing chairs angled such that patrons can face each other to talk. There’s a nook of a bottleshop, too, where all the featured whites, reds and sparklings are made by women and people of color.…
